Congratulations Gamma Epsilon on winning the Chapter of the Year Award 2011 and Soror Anessa Howell on being elected as the North Atlantic Regional Representative to the International Nominating Committee!
Dearest Sorors and Friends,
May I be the first to say that it is truly and honor and pleasure to be able to
welcome you to the website to the Glorious, Electrifying and Illustrious Gamma
Epsilon Philadelphia City Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporate.
We are a citywide, undergraduate chapter whose charter includes: Drexel
University, LaSalle University, Philadelphia University, St. Joseph’s University
and the University of Pennsylvania.
Since being chartered in 1945, the Gamma Epsilon Philadelphia City Chapter
continues to dedicate itself to upholding Alpha Kappa Alpha’s glorious legacy.
As a chapter, we personally and collectively strive to embody the three thrusts
of our beloved Sorority: Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service. Our new national
program for 2010-2014 is “Global Leadership through Timeless Service.”
Encompassing the six program initiatives established by our International
President, we will continue to serve the community through our programming
and service initiatives as we celebrate the 103 years since our illustrious
sorority’s beginnings.
Gamma Epsilon is and has always been an award-winning chapter. Sorors in
our chapter have also recently received a number of individual honors as well,
including induction into the Order of Omega, the national Greek honor society
at Drexel University, initiation into the Onyx and Sphinx Honors Societies at the
University of Pennsylvania, acceptance and participation in several coveted
internship programs, and a myriad of other recognitions and accolades. With
the strengths of all sorors culminating in our service and programming, Gamma
Epsilon was named the North Atlantic Region’s 2011 Chapter of the Year for the
second year in a row!
Sincerely,
Kristen C. Jackson
